Call for Civic Action – Heroes of Culture of Living
The Heroes of Living Culture project aims to inspire and motivate citizens to initiate positive changes in their immediate surroundings. The focus is on small, visible, and inspiring actions led by citizens themselves, which can serve as examples for others and encourage broader community involvement.
What We Aim to Achieve
- connecting citizens with schools, municipalities, and local institutions
- initiating civic actions in neighborhoods, buildings, and local communities
- strengthening a culture of responsible behavior in public spaces
- developing environmental and traffic awareness
- spreading positive examples within the community
Who Can Participate
Only organizations may apply, provided that activities are carried out together with:
individuals, informal groups of citizens, building residents, school communities, local communities, and other initiatives that contribute to the culture of living.
Project Selection Criteria
Projects will be evaluated based on:
- level of cooperation and community involvement
- measurable and visible impact
- long-term sustainability
- innovation and creativity of the approach
- efficient use of resources
- positive environmental impact
- potential for replication and scaling
- contribution to raising community awareness
Examples of Actions
- improvement of courtyards or public spaces
- cleaning and planting initiatives
- promotion of parking culture and traffic safety
- neighborhood solidarity actions
- educational activities for children and youth
Awards for Heroes of Living Culture
The most inspiring civic actions will be awarded:
- First prize: 2,000 KM
- Second prize: 1,500 KM
- Third prize: 1,000 KM
- Special recognitions for outstanding initiatives
Required Application Documentation
- brief description of the action including results and number of participants (1–2 pages)
- activity plan with timeline
- budget
- photos of the space “before” and “after”
- contact person and basic information about the organization

Deadline for submission: 15 August 2026
Activities may be carried out from May to mid-August 2026, and completed activities must be reported no later than the stated deadline.
Selection Process
Winning initiatives will be selected by the Board of the La Terra Nostra Foundation based on the stated criteria. All applicants will be informed of the results by 5 September 2026 at the latest. The award ceremony will take place live on 18 September 2026.
