What this role is all about:

Data Science Intern is responsible for analyzing large-scale telecommunications data to uncover patterns, anomalies, and actionable insights.  You will explore massive datasets from distributed systems (ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch), perform statistical analysis in Jupyter Notebooks, and build machine learning models.  In this role, you will query billions of records, develop data pipelines, create visualizations that drive insights, and transform promising research into production-ready microservices deployed on multiple data centers

What you’ll do:

Build production-grade machine learning systems for large-scale telecommunications data analysis.

Work with Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and industry-standard libraries including Pandas, Polars, Prophet, Scikit-Learn, sentence-transformers, and Darts for time series forecasting and pattern recognition.

Query and analyze massive datasets from distributed systems including ClickHouse clusters, PostgreSQL databases, DuckDB and Elasticsearch, learning end-to-end data engineering workflows

Contribute to research-to-production pipelines: from exploratory data analysis in notebooks to deploying FastAPI/Flask microservices that process millions of events daily.

Write production-ready, testable code following clean code principles, with emphasis on research reproducibility and service reliability in data science applications.

Deploy your solutions using modern tools like uv/poetry for dependency management, Git for version control, Docker for containerization, and Kafka for real-time event streaming.

You will fit in if:

You are currently studying software engineering (eg. computer science, mathematics)

You are a graduate (MA) or final year undergraduate (BA) student

You have valid student's rights from Studentski centar (can work on the student contract during internship and after)
