About the Hackathon
Garaža is organizing the regional Frontier Hackathon on November 7–8, 2026, in Belgrade, Serbia, bringing together ambitious young builders and innovators under the age of 26.
The hackathon follows an open-concept format where participating teams work directly alongside experienced mentors to develop startup ideas from scratch. Mentors and experts will guide teams to think in terms of frontier technology, conduct thorough market research, and avoid common pitfalls and "tarpit" ideas that look promising but lead nowhere.

Cohort Size: 12–16 selected teams
Prizes & Opportunities
$10,000 Cash Prize Pool: Distributed among the top-performing teams as non-equity grants to help kickstart and accelerate their projects.
Fully-Funded San Francisco Trip: The team with the strongest startup potential will win an all-expenses-paid, week-long trip to San Francisco. Flights are covered by Garaža, and accommodation is provided in partnership with the European Startup Embassy, immersing young regional talent directly into the Silicon Valley ecosystem and connecting them with key industry stakeholders and the diaspora.
Eligibility Criteria
Age: All team members must be 26 years old or younger.
Team Size: Teams must consist of 2 to 4 members.
Region: Open to teams from the Balkan / South East Europe (SEE) region.
Travel: Teams must be able to travel to and participate in-person in Belgrade, Serbia.
