Fulbright Foreign Student Program

Since 1946, the Fulbright Program has brought people together across borders with one goal in mind: to build mutual understanding between the United States and the rest of the world through the power of research and education. The U.S. Embassy in Sarajevo is proud to announce that applications are now open for the 2027-2028 Fulbright Foreign Student Program in the Visiting Student Researcher category. This is an opportunity for graduate-level researchers to spend a semester or academic year at a U.S. university, fully funded, advancing research that matters to them and to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The program covers round-trip travel, monthly living stipends, research fees, and more. Projects that advance national security, economic prosperity, and international cooperation are especially encouraged. Applications are open through August 6, 2026.
