Deadline: Apply by June 13, 2025 Open to: Early-stage Edtech startups and university teams globally, ready to innovate in education. Benefits: Research-backed mentorship, product development support, and global accelerator access.

Description

The Helsinki Education Hub Edtech Incubator Fall 2025 is a 12-week innovation program designed to transform early-stage educational technology ideas into market-ready solutions. Hosted by the University of Helsinki, this incubator bridges the gap between academic research and entrepreneurial action. Participants engage in a structured curriculum that emphasizes pedagogical rigor, Lean LaunchPad methodologies, and real-world validation through the Helsinki Edtech Testbed. The program culminates in opportunities to pitch at Slush 2025’s InvestED event and connect with EU and US accelerators, ensuring startups are primed for global impact.

Eligibility

This program targets three distinct groups: university-based teams (researchers or students from the University of Helsinki or other institutions), registered Edtech startups without a fully developed MVP, and international startups willing to establish a Finnish subsidiary. Applicants must demonstrate a prototype or near-prototype stage solution focused on addressing educational challenges, such as improving learning outcomes or enhancing accessibility. International teams must commit to registering their company in Finland before the program begins, supported by Helsinki’s Soft Landing services.

Benefits

Participants gain access to a robust ecosystem of learning scientists, educators, and business experts. The program focuses on embedding research-based principles into product design, offering weekly workshops on pedagogical development, financial planning, and storytelling. Teams test their solutions in real educational settings through the Helsinki Edtech Testbed and receive feedback from practitioners. Post-program, graduates are introduced to international accelerators and investors, ensuring pathways to scaling. Additional perks include co-working spaces at the Helsinki Education Hub and mentorship from industry leaders during the 7-week Lean LaunchPad sprint.
