Job opening – EYRC Coordinator!
The Ex-Yu Rock Society (EYRS) was founded in 2021 to preserve and promote rock music in the space of the former Yugoslavia.
In late 2022 the EYRS opened the Ex-Yu Rock Centar (EYRC) in Sarajevo, which is the central part of its mission. The EYRC has welcomed thousands of visitors to enjoy its standing and temporary exhibits of unique and original artefacts, audio/video displays and photography. The EYRC stage is also becoming a known place for established and emerging rockers to rehearse and perform.
As the EYRS looks forward to its next stage of development, it is looking for an EYRC Coordinator.
Responsibilities of the EYRC Coordinator will include the following:
· Coordinating and helping to operate the EYRC
· Developing and implementing an outreach plan to gain support from local and regional rock fans, Diaspora, companies, tour operators and others
· Developing relationships with musicians to continue to develop EYRC exhibits
· Planning, curating and supporting the installation of exhibits
· Support in the ongoing improvement of the EYRC visitor experience
· Fundraising and proposal preparation
· Activity and event planning and organization
· Public relations
· Potential team member supervision
· Administrative support
The person we are looking for will have experience and skills including:
· A genuine love and understanding of regional rock, past and present, and a commitment to promoting culture
· A strong sense of motivation and initiative
· The ability to multi-task
· Ability to reach out to partners ranging from rock musicians and cultural figures to potential corporate sponsors, local government officials and embassies / international organizations
· Ability to draft project proposals in the local language and to contribute to drafting proposals in English
· The ability to work in both the local language and English
