Young People Speak Best About the Changes They Have Initiated Themselves

KThrough the initiative “One Municipality, One Parliament”, implemented by the Municipality of Novi Grad Sarajevo Children’s Parliament, children and youth were given the opportunity to present their ideas and recommendations directly to decision-makers, while learning how to advocate for change in their communities in an informed and constructive way.

In this video, Najda and Sumeja talk about the most important changes the initiative has brought to children and youth, what they are particularly proud of, and how their involvement in the Children’s Parliament has helped them strengthen their communication, dialogue, and active participation skills in decision-making processes.

Listen to their experiences and discover why it is so important to give children and young people the space to speak, be heard, and take part in shaping communities that reflect their needs and aspirations.

The initiative was implemented as part of the project “Connecting the Dots 2 – Advancing Child Participation in Decision-Making for Improved Child Rights and Democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, implemented by World Vision BH Foundation and the Our Children Association Sarajevo, in cooperation with the Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with financial support from the European Union.
