Youth Voice: Going Home! — Back to Zenica
We are proud to announce that Youth Voice: Going Home! has been officially approved and will take place from 30 August to 5 September 2026 in Zenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. This marks the closing edition of a five-year bilateral cooperation series between i-dijaspora (Switzerland) and Naša djeca (Bosnia and Herzegovina), bringing the journey full circle — back to the city where it all began.
A Programme Built on Five Years of Learning
Youth Voice: Going Home! brings together twenty experienced youth workers from Switzerland and Bosnia and Herzegovina for a seven-day intensive programme. Over the course of the week, participants will reflect on five years of shared work across the Youth Voice series, contribute to a Legacy Handbook documenting insights and best practices, and produce multimedia materials capturing what cross-cultural youth work looks like in practice.
The programme is designed to strengthen competencies in intercultural facilitation, digital storytelling, and network development — skills that participants carry forward into their regular youth work beyond this programme.
Back to Zenica
Zenica was chosen deliberately. As the starting point of the entire five-year cooperation, returning there gives the closing edition symbolic weight — a genuine homecoming for a group of practitioners who have grown through this project together. The city will serve as both backdrop and inspiration as participants look back on what was built and forward to how those lessons travel.
What Participants Will Produce
The outputs of Youth Voice: Going Home! are designed to outlast the programme itself:
• A Legacy Handbook documenting methodologies and lessons from the five-year series
• Multimedia materials showcasing best practices in cross-cultural youth work/short documentary
• A replicable cooperation model for sustained Swiss–Western Balkans youth exchange

Participants: 20 experienced youth workers (18–30 years)

Costs: Accommodation, meals and programme activities covered - travel costs will be reimbursed up to 250 CHF per participant
Youth Voice: Going Home! is supported by Movetia, Switzerland's national agency for exchange and mobility. Movetia covers all participant costs, including travel, accommodation, meals, and programme activities.
